Though the world has changed a great deal over the last 150 years, our purpose has always remained the same: provide only the finest quality meat with exceptional customer service.
We've not always been 'Brookshaws' - The original Hospital Street butcher shop was founded in 1870 at no.5, just across the road from where Brookshaws lies today.

Cecil Broomhall (pictured, left) was responsible for founding the original butchers, and due to his success he needed another pair of hands.
Fresh from completing his national service, a 21 year old John Brookshaw (pictured, right) joined Cecil in 1961.
During this time John learned the skills and the trade that established him as a renowned butcher. As well as this he also would purchase livestock at the local auction at Gresty Road, Crewe as well as going to slaughter up the road at Henshall's Slaughterhouse in Shavington.
10 years later, Cecil retired and John took ownership. John relocated to 8 & 10 Hospital Street in 1970 where Brookshaws of Nantwich still operates today.
After leaving school John's sons Mark and Andrew took up the knives in the late 1970's and thus, the Brookshaw family legacy was born.
In 1994, Mark founded Edencroft Fine Wines at no.10, departing butchery to focus on the sale and distribution of luxury wines and liquor albeit under the same roof.

In 2007, Anton joined the team and he and Andrew continue to operate the butchery business today.
Mark remains at the helm of Edencroft Fine Wines.
In 2018, John retired allowing his family legacy to live on through sons Mark and Andrew.
At Brookshaws of Nantwich, we understand the importance of preserving traditional practices, techniques and customs.
Keeping these traditions alive for generations has improved our high street butcher experience, while ensuring that only the finest meat finds our customer's tables.
